Southbound brings vivid dyed red sponge coral together with oversized black-and-white Krobo powder glass beads for a bracelet with plenty of personality.

The irregular coral nuggets keep the red organic and textured rather than polished and perfect, while the handmade Krobo beads bring strong black-and-white contrast. A short section of textured stainless steel cable chain breaks up the substantial beads and gives the bracelet an unexpected edge.

Coral has long carried associations with protection, vitality, and connection to the sea. It is traditionally believed to encourage strength, confidence, and emotional grounding.

Stone + Material Notes

Sponge coral is an organic material with natural variation in texture, markings, and shape. The coral used in Southbound has been dyed red, and variations in saturation and surface character are expected.

The oversized black-and-white Krobo beads are powder glass beads associated with Krobo beadmaking traditions in Ghana. Because of their handmade character, no two have precisely identical shapes, patterns, or finishes.

These variations are part of the character of the materials rather than imperfections.
